La Paz – In this time dedicated to listening, in the path foreseen by the Ecclesial Assembly of Latin America and the Caribbean , the Pontifical Mission Societies of Bolivia and the Missions Section of the Bolivian Episcopal Conference, have promoted two asynchronous thematic forums, with the aim of knowing everyone’s opinion on the theme of the missionary action of the local Church. The thematic Forums will be in asynchronous through the virtual platform of the Bolivian Bishops’ Conference at http://aulavirtual.pastoraldigital.net. Anyone can send their contribution, opinion and experiences from June 28 to July 11, 2021.
According to the note released by the PMS, sent to Fides, the first forum has as its theme: “Greater participation and co-responsibility in the missionary work of the Church” and wants to ask us how each one assumes, as baptized, the missionary work of the Church, that which God entrusted to his son Jesus Christ, and whom He in turn entrusted to his disciples and to the Church.
Therefore, all of us, upon receiving Baptism, are co-responsible for the mission that the Lord entrusts to us.
The second forum, entitled “The mission of the missionary disciple at the service of life”, invites us to reflect on whether in our activity as missionary disciples, we transmit and defend life in the style of Jesus Christ who brought us life and life in abundance. This calls us to promote a Church that goes forth, in search of the other, towards both geographical and existential peripheries.
