Linux Format
The UK's best-selling Linux magazine

Linux Format is Future Publishing's market-leading UK magazine dedicated to the Linux operating system. Launched in March 2000, our magazine and website have rapidly become essential reading for Linux users of all types. Each month we have news, reviews and practical tutorials for beginners through to advanced users.

Thought-provoking features and interviews also provide a focus on key technologies, trends and issues in the fast-paced world of Free and Open Source software. This scope and depth of coverage has won the magazine a loyal readership among both professionals and enthusiasts. Our goal is to provide the most accurate, up-to-date and unbiased information on all things Linux, and promote the use of Linux in homes and businesses.

Each month in Linux Format

  • Latest software, hardware and book reviews
  • In-depth features and interviews with key Linux players
  • Your problems solved in our Answers section
  • Detailed tutorials from beginner to guru
  • Cover CDs and DVDs brimming with the latest software

Linux Format, released monthly, is available in many UK newsagents for £5.99 (CD edition) and £6.49 (DVD). Additionally, you can buy or subscribe in many other countries. On this disc you can find info on the magazine, sample articles and contact details -- use the menu on the left to navigate.

As a bonus, this disc also works as a bootable live CD of Kubuntu Linux! Restart your PC with this disc in the drive, set your computer to boot from the CD drive (via the BIOS), and Linux will boot. It all runs from the disc -- not touching your hard drive -- so it's a great way to try Linux.

Editor

Linux Gazette was an online monthly magazine dedicated to the Linux operating system and the open-source community. Founded in 1995, it became one of the longest-running and most respected Linux publications on the internet. The magazine featured tutorials, technical articles, reviews, opinion pieces, and community contributions aimed at both beginners and experienced Linux users.

By combining practical guidance with community-driven content, Linux Gazette played an important role in spreading knowledge about Linux and promoting open-source principles during the early growth of the internet and free software movement.
