We haven't just pulled out all the stops this month - we've disassembled the entire pipe organ! On this disc you'll find seven full distros for your exploring pleasure, and best of all, you can boot four of them directly from the DVD. Whatever you want to do with Linux - whether you're a newcomer looking to sample a variety of distros, or you're an experienced Linuxer looking for a new challenge - you can do it here. To run the Sabayon, Fedora, Gentoo and Slax Live distros, simply restart your PC with this disc in your drive, and then select the OS you want to run at the boot menu. There are quite a few boot options: if you're puzzled by any of them, see the disc pages in the magazine. Meanwhile, if you want to try the Ubuntu, Puppy and Damn Small distros, burn the ISOs provided in the Distros section to CD-Rs and boot your PC from them. Don't forget to read the magazine's Live CD roundup for lots of information on the Live distros. The other big feature of this disc is a complete 100+ page guide to OpenOffice.org in the Magazine section. It's crammed with information on using the office suite, from getting to grips with Writer and Calc, through to advanced use of scripting and macros. Plus there's a towering pile of great software on the DVD, many from our cover feature, and our New to Linux pages with beginner-friendly guides galore! Mike Saunders

Linux Gazette was an online monthly magazine dedicated to the Linux operating system and the open-source community. Founded in 1995, it became one of the longest-running and most respected Linux publications on the internet. The magazine featured tutorials, technical articles, reviews, opinion pieces, and community contributions aimed at both beginners and experienced Linux users.
