Description

These students in Bong County, Liberia, study by candlelight. They are part of the Accelerated Learning Program in the country, an effort to compress several years of education for older students who missed school during Liberia’s civil war.

An education partnership between the United States and Liberia has used a mix of formal and non-formal education approaches. The participants in programs are funded by USAID and the President’s Education Initiative.

Schools Wikipedia was created by children's charity SOS Childrens Villages. SOS Children's Villages believes education is an important part of a child's life. That's why we ensure they receive nursery care as well as high-quality primary and secondary education. When they leave school, we support the children in our care as they progress to vocational training or higher education. Help another child by taking out a sponsorship.
