Description

Angkor Vat est un temple d'Etat construit au XIIè siècle par le roi Suryavarman II. Il est dédié au Dieu Vishnu. Il constitute l'apogée de l'art khmer.

Angkor Vat signifie "capitale monastère". C'est le monument le mieux conservé de tous les monuments khmers en raison de son occupation par des religieux depuis sa redécouverte au XVIè siècle.

De nombreux macaques sont en liberté dans le parc du temple.
