The original English article has been rewritten by Icelandic, Danish and English wikipedians in order to make it comply with the wikipedia guidelines. It is true that the author has been promoting a project that was originally started by him. The Englsih article has, however, been kept because the project has gained popularity in Iceland and has been discussed in the Icelandic media. That was the only reason the article was kept. El artículo original en inglés ha sido reescrito por wikipedistas islandeces, daneses e ingleses para hacerlo cumplir con las guías generales de wikipedia. Es verdad que el autor ha estado promoviendo un proyectos originalmente creado por él. El artículo en inglés, sin embargo, se ha mantenido porque el proyecto ganó popularidad en Islandia y ha sido discutido en los medios de comunicación islandeces. Por sólo ese motivo fue preservado. Por otro lado, la autopromoción debe evitarse por cualquier medio. Traducido líbremente por Carlos Th (M·C)

The discussion about deletion on the English wikipedia can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/High_Icelandic. Note that the Icelandic article has been kept in its original form and has never been nominated for deletion. The guy with the Belgian IP address 84.193.159.25 is without doubt one of the Dutchmen who pushed the page for deletion on various wikipedias in february this year. The article was pushed by the original author, that's true, but at the same time the phenomenon had become well-known and notable in Iceland (See English comment on the Icelandic discussion page). Some of these Dutchmen, like the one who started the discussion here, saw this as a defeat and keeps on attacking the article on various wikipedia. At this moment, he is also busy on the Italian wikipedia.

It would be exaggerated to remove the page entirely. The phenomenon is well-known in Iceland and discussed in the Icelandic media and therefore merits an article. Once the obvious bias (pictures and examples of neologisms) is removed from this article, there's no reason anymore to delete it.

Reescribé el articulo y suprimé la porquería. Ahora tiene que ser de acuerdo con las pautas wikipedia.

• Pues, para empezar, esto lo inició un usuario que ni siquiera puede votar, pero bueno, cosas a parte: no encuentro dónde está la autopromoción, francamente (si es que ya lo han arreglado algo, mejor). * No soy partidario de los idiomas artificiales sin historia, a la inversa del esperanto. El alto islandés puede llegar algún día a ser reconocido como tal, pero creo que por ahora es prematuro afirmarlo. Dutch wikipedians pushed the page for deletion on all wikipedias in february this year, without knowing a thing about the subject and its popularity in Iceland. They were extremely angry because all Icelandic wikipedians voted for keep on the English page for deletion and decided to take revenge by presenting the phenomenon as negative and marginal as possible in the Dutch article. Into the bargain, they created a page called Hoognederlands (High Dutch) on the Dutch wikipedia/humor section where they gravely ridiculize the work of the author. [[1]] Zanaqo, who voted in favour of deletion on this page contributed to this HUMOR PAGE: see the oldest history [[2]] They hate the article and want to damage it as much as possible and on all wikipedias. This is a human feeling, but it is out of place on wikipedia. On the Italian wikipedia, the page was also pushed for deletion by the same anonymous so called contributor and was helped by some of his collegues. But the Italians luckily didn't buy their tricks. For your information: I'm thinking about changing my vote because the article looks slightly improved. I only have problems with the word ultrapurism in the first sentence. The first sentence should contextualize. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be consensus for deletion. The fact remains that this article was agressively pushed on multiple wikipedias, by mr. braekmans who is proud of his extremely vulgar and agressive neologisms and incredibly over the top hate-spam.

Actually, I didn't really contribute to nl:Wikipedia:Humor_en_onzin/Hoognederlands, I added a silly example, and then I removed it again for being to silly. So improve the introduction, and everybody will be happy. Disculpas por no hablar Español.Zanaqo (?) 19:01 26 sep 2006 (CEST)

The author of the article is a disgusting man, to say the least. But fact is that destroying relevant information as a kind of punishment for some individual is irrelevant. And I just don't like to see the name of the Dutch wikipedia blackened because some of them, like our friend mister IP 84.193.159.25 play interpol on the various wikipedias.
