John Michell

John Michell (ur. 25 grudnia 1724, zm. 29 kwietnia 1793) - angielski fizyk, astronom i geolog.
W 1752 został magistrem Królewskiego Kolegium działającego w ramach Uniwersytetu Cambridge, w 1761 uzyskał stopień doktora. Rok później nadano mu tytuł "Woodwardian Professor of Geology" (profesora geologii na Cabridge). W 1767 został rektorem uczelni Thornhill w Yorkshire.
Dołączył do Królewskiego Towarzystwa Naukowego w 1760 (w tym samym roku co Henry Cavendish).
