Mecz NHL All-Star Game został rozegrany w Philips Arena 27 stycznia 2008 roku. Wschód pokonał Zachód 8:7 (5:1, 0:2, 3:4). Bramki dla Wschodu zdobyli: dwie Eric Staal i Aleksander Owieczkin oraz po jednej Andriej Markow, Brian Campbell, Marian Hossa oraz Marc Savard, a dla Zachodu trzy Rick Nash oraz po jednej Scott Niedermayer, Ryan Getzlaf, Dion Phaneuf i Marian Gaborik. MVP meczu został wybrany Eric Staal z Carolina Hurricanes. Pierwsza bramka meczu padła w 12 sekundzie pierwszej tercji.
