The Secret Adversary (O Inimigo Secreto, Brasil ou o O Adversário Secreto, Portugal) é um livro de Agatha Christie. Escrito em 1922, é o primeiro livro onde aparecem os personagens Tommy (Thomas Beresford) e Tuppence (Prudence Cowley) - Tommy e Tuppence Beresford.

Inicialmente desempregados e sedentos de viver grandes aventuras, o casal se envolve na busca de uma garota desaparecida após o naufrágio de um navio de passageiros durante a primeita guerra mundial: Jane Finn. A garota está em posse de um importante documento que, terminada a guerra, apresenta informações comprometedoras para a Inglaterra e os países aliados. Assim, não somente o governo, mas também um grupo de revolucionários quer ficar em posse dos tais documentos, com o intuito de utilizar as informações em uma importante greve geral que estão organizando. Raptos, perseguições, assassinatos, enganos fazem com que Tommy e Tupence não possam reclamar de falta de ação neste primeiro caso que conseguem destrinchar. O assassino é o James Peel Edgerton.
