Sorry, I'm bad at Spanish. Can anyone translate the following, please? Sicilian can't be classified as Italo-Dalmatian (I guess it means it is genetically related to Italian) because Sicilian didn't even develop from Vulgar Latin. Even after the Roman conquest, the area wasn't completely latinized; many people still spoke Greek.Then it went through Arabic, Norman, French, Provençal, German, Catalan, and Spanish, but the Italian-like development wasn't until the 18th century. So Sicilian can't be classified along with Italian in Italo-Dalmatian. It can't even be classified in Italo-Western.
