Édith Cresson

Édith Cresson, z domu Campion (ur. 27 stycznia 1934 w Boulogne-Billancourt pod Paryżem) - socjalistyczna polityk, pierwsza kobieta na stanowisku premiera Francji, od stycznia 1991 do maja 1992 r.
Cresson była znana z kontrowersyjnych, niekiedy wręcz rasistowskich komentarzy - publicznie krytykowała narody anglosaskie, wyrażała się niechętnie o kulturze krajów takich, jak Stany Zjednoczone, Niemcy i Wielka Brytania. Homoseksualizm określała mianem "anglosaskiego problemu", który ma niewiele wspólnego z Francją. Krytykowała też ostro Japonię za jej praktyki handlowe.
W latach 1995-1999 była komisarzem Unii Europejskiej do spraw nauki i techniki za kadencji Jacques'a Santera. Była zmuszona ustąpić po wysunięciu między innymi wobec niej oskarżeń o korupcję, oszustwa i nepotyzm.
Jest zamężna, ma dwie córki.
