Cecil Scott Forester, właśc. Cecil Lewis Troughton Smith (ur. 27 sierpnia 1899 w Kairze, zm. 2 kwietnia 1966 w Fullerton w Kalifornii), angielski pisarz.
Dwukrotnie żonaty, miał dzieci (dwóch synów) tylko z pierwszego małżeństwa. Wczesna arterioskleroza w 1943 niemal pozbawiła go władzy w nogach. Przeżył ciężki zawał serca w 1964.
Autor m.in. 5 biografii, 3 książek dla dzieci oraz 35 powieści, spośród których największą popularność zdobył cykl 12 powieści przygodowych z okresu wojen napoleońskich, których bohaterem jest kapitan Royal Navy Horatio Hornblower.
Kilka powieści Forestera zostało sfilmowanych, m.in. Afrykańska królowa (wyd. 1935), film 1951) , w reżyserii Johna Hustona. W rolach głównych wystąpili Katharine Hepburn i Humphrey Bogart, który otrzymał Oskara za tę rolę.
