Nagroda Akademii za najlepszy film (The Academy Award for Best Motion Picture) to jedna z Nagród Akademii Filmowej (Oscarów). Kategoria za najlepszy film jest jedyną kategorią Oscarów, w której uprawnienia do głosu posiada każdy członek Amerykańskiej Akademii Sztuki i Wiedzy Filmowej.

Oscar w tej kategorii jest praktycznie nagrodą za najlepszy anglojęzyczny film fabularny – jak dotąd, poza kilkoma wyjątkami, nominacje otrzymywały wyłącznie filmy w języku angielskim.

Od roku 1930 do roku 1932 Oscary przyznawano w tym samym roku, w którym kończył się okres premier (Z tym, że w kwietniu 1930 przyznano Oscary za okres 1 sierpnia 1928 - 31 lipca 1929 roku, ale już w listopadzie 1930 roku przyznano Oscary za okres 1 sierpnia 1929 - 31 lipca 1930 i tak co listopad do listopada 1932).
